New beginners mountain bike skills courses
In response to the many requests for a beginners mountain bike course, we are extremely pleased to add our new Core Skills - Foundations course to our mountain bike skills course programme.
Core Skills - Foundations will give off-road novices the skills required to leave tarmac behind for the very first time. We'll help you get to know your mountain bike and teach you gear selection, safe riding position, safe braking and take you out on the trail after learning how to negotiate small trail obstacles.
Following training you'll will have the confidence and skills to go off-road on your own. After a little practice you'll then be ready to return for our Core Skills - Fundamantals course to take your mountain biking to the next level.

Surrey Hills Mountain Bike Guides news
The trails are definitely drying out in The Surrey Hills aided by the porous greensand geology that makes our local hills such a great place to ride in. Forestry operations are gradually coming to an end and finally some of the closed trails will soon be re-opened.

Peaslake Mountain Bike Orienteering Race
What better way to test your skills against our local trails in The Surrey Hills than to enter the Peaslake Mountain Bike Orienteering race on Sunday 25th of April.
Mountain bike orienteering is a race where twenty or so checkpoints are placed alongside bridleways, forestry trails and purpose built mountain bike trails, each with an associated score. The objective is to visit as many checkpoints as possible within the allotted time and score the highest points possible.
As well as being a lot of fun, the race raises money for The Peaslake School Trust. The school is unique because they operate as a free school, receiving no government or other official support, aside from early years funding.
If you are interested in competing head over to the Peaslake MTBO web site for more information. |
