Last month the coaching team here as Astounding Adventures enjoyed a well earned winter break, but despite this there's been plenty going on to talk about.

The New Year saw our latest competition launched in partnership with Cicerone Press, Harvey Maps and Paramo and we've also had lots of positive press coverage for our mountain bike skills courses. On top at that we've revamped our Adventure Race Skills courses for 2010.

We've now published our Spring/Summer programme so why not come along and brush up your mountain, bike or rock skills ready for when the nights get shorter and the sun makes a eagerly anticipated return.

We've been listening to your comments about our Adventure Race Skills Coaching Weekends and have completely revamped the course by breaking it down into a series of modular courses similar to our Mountain Bike Skills Coaching Programme.

With our new Adventure Race Skills Coaching Programme you can choose which courses you want to do; dipping in to address your weakest discipline or gradually completing the entire programme in your own time.

The programme includes our MTB Core Skills course, Orienteering Skills, Mountain Bike Navigation as well as our brand new Adventure Racing: Planning Strategy and Tactics lecture.

Our Adventure Race Skills Coaching Programme sessions cost £60.00 for MTB Core Skills, Orienteering Skills and Mountain Bike Navigation, whilst our Planning, Strategy and Tactics lecture costs just £20.00.

The new year started with a flurry of snow and a flurry of positive press reviews of our Mountain Bike Skills Coaching Programme.

In January we helped members of Muddy Moles, Diary of a Mountain Biker and Brighton MTB clubs brush up their mountain bike skills. The course obviously went down well as the guys posted some very positive reviews on their web sites.

Surrey Hills Mountain Bike Guides newsSurrey Hills Mountain Bike Guides logo

The last few month's have been a bit of a mixed bag for riding in The Surrey Hills. We seem to have had it all; bullet hard frozen trails riding like high summer, snow drifts and ice and, following the big melt, back to the wet and mud of the last few months of 2009.

New - Guided Night Rides

As the days get longer and the temperature gets warmer, more and more people can be seen out enjoying the trails. To take advantage of the improving conditions we have added a series of mid-week evening guided rides to our ride schedule.

Please drop by our Surrey Hills Mountain Bike Guides web site for more information.
